Cyprus Residence by Investment Program

The Cyprus Residence by Investment program provides a fast-track way to permanent residency in Cyprus for the entire family via a minimum €300,000 investment.

Non-European citizens can acquire a permanent residency permit with access to Europe in only 2 months and you do not even have to reside in Cyprus.

The entire family can consist of your spouse, dependent children up to 25 years, parents and parents in law and you only have to visit Cyprus once within the 1st year for biometric submission then only once every two years is all that is required. Your application can simply be processed in your absence and filed on your behalf and you can apply for citizenship in five years.

The tax regime is favourable with no worldwide dividends, interest and income tax, no tax on gains and no inheritance tax.

You do have to have €30,000 deposited into a 3-year fixed deposit account with a Cyprus bank which can be withdrawn at the end of the period and have proof of income of at least €30,000 for single applicants but rises if you have other applicants.

You cannot take up work in Cyprus, however, you can own a business in Cyprus and receive dividends from the business. You can also earn an income from letting your property out.

Cyprus Residence by Investment Application

In order to apply for permanent residency via the Cyprus Residence by Investment program you have to;

  1. purchase a new property (or a re-sale property) with a minimum value of €300,000 (a maximum of two properties can be purchased but must come from the same developer and total value at least €300,000).
  2. the applicant must maintain a €30,000 bank deposit in a Cypriot bank for 3 years.
  3. provide proof of income of at least €30,000 per annum for single applicants (you have to add €5,000 per person for spouse and dependant children and €8,000 per person for parents and in-laws).
  4. take out private medical insurance.

Permanent Residency in Cyprus Category F (normal-track basis)

Applicants should have in their possession a secured annual income, enough to allow for a decent living in Cyprus, without having to engage in any business, trade or profession. This income may derive from pensions, dividends, deposits, rents, etc.

The annual income required is at least, €10,000 for a single applicant and at least, €5,000 for every dependent person. However, the Immigration Control Board may, at its discretion, demand additional amounts if considered to be necessary.

Documents required

  1. Copy of valid passport (NON EU).
  2. Copy of valid Temporary Residence Permit (if the applicant resides in Cyprus).
  3. Title Deeds or Contract of Sale for house purchase plus proof of payment of at least two-thirds of property price OR rental agreement for at least 12 months (signed by Mukhtar.
  4. V. (including academic qualifications).
  5. Income tax returns for all years (original or true copy) if applicable.
  6. Health Insurance policy including repatriation. Plan A minimum.
  7. Criminal Record Certificate (if the applicant resides abroad, official translation duly validated from their Country) + Apostille ( If applicable).
  8. Bank account statement (original) minimum 3 months from outside Cyprus.
  9. Proof of income from sources outside of Cyprus. €10,000 for the main applicant, €5,000 for the spouse and each dependent.
  10. Cyprus Bank account showing minimum of €10,000.00 for main applicant and €5,000.00 for each dependent plus proof of where money came from.
  11. Marriage certificate + Apostille and translation is applicable.
  12. Children’s birth certificate + Apostille and translation if applicable.
  13. Children’s school certificate of attendance.
